Monthly Socials

Foothills Association of Cruiser Sailors meets through the sailing "off season" to socialize, plan for the next year's sailing adventures, and lie about past years'. Each monthly social has a sailing-related presentation or activity designed to help members make it through to the next spring.

Where and When

Socials are held at the Mewata Armouries on Friday evenings starting at 7 pm. Paid parking is available on the south side of the building. Free parking is available on the surrounding streets after 6 pm.

The Mewata Armouries are located at 11th St. and 8th Ave. S.W. Calgary.
FACS meets in the Officers' Mess Ante Room, 2nd floor, south side.

Year End BBQ

One of the highlights of our social season is the annual BBQ in June. When most other sailing clubs are just starting their active season, we say good-bye to one another for the summer and look forward to meeting again in the fall to tell tales of our sailing adventures.

The BBQ is held at the clubhouse of the Glenmore Sailing Club in South Glenmore Park and begins at 6 pm. Food and soft drinks are provided. You may bring your own alcoholic drinks.
